South of the South

Governor’s Island is a 172-acre island in the New York Bay, approximately 1/2 a mile from the southern tip of Manhattan. It is legally part of the borough of Manhattan in New York City.

The island is now open to the public by way of ferry, and will soon be home to a new greenspace for visitors to enjoy.
